HR Administrative Assistant

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Administrative Assistant to join our Human Resources team.  This role will play a key part in ensuring smooth and efficient HR operations by supporting day-to-day processes.

This HR teammate provides administrative support to a range of HR functions, including employee engagement, recruitment, compliance, HR systems and technologies, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, employee events, feedback surveys and more to support a positive employee experience.
  • Process employee changes in the payroll/HRIS system (UKG), including job and rate changes, benefit enrollments, and other employment updates, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process new hire paperwork, including I-9s, W-4s, background checks, and employee eligibility verifications.

Position Overview: As the only public swimming facility in Routt County, Old Town Hot Springs (OTHS) is dedicated to providing aquatic health, wellness, and education opportunities to our members, guests, and the broader community. The Aquatics Director is responsible for overseeing all aquatic operations and programming at OTHS, including lifeguarding, water safety instruction, aquatic programs, and the Steamboat Springs Swim Team. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, service, and operational excellence.
 
Essential Job Functions:
 
Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing aquatics team with clear direction and integrity.
  • Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and retain staff, ensuring a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Serve as a lead instructor for lifeguard, CPR, and in-service training.
  • Provide hands-on support & coverage across aquatics roles as needed (e.g., lifeguard, instructor, swim coach).
  • Evaluate team performance and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Manage staff schedules and maintain optimal staffing levels aligned with operational and financial goals.

  • Lead cross-departmental training and drills related to OTHS Emergency Action Plan
  • Strong understanding of Crisis Management.
  • Collaborates to create direction and objectives around the organization’s vision, translates vision into actionable plans.
  • Able to act as a subject matter expert on the Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) and local/state pool regulations.
 
 
Budget
  • Monitor department expenses, payroll, and monthly revenue to ensure alignment with the approved budget.
  • Take ownership of the annual Aquatics department budget development and planning.
  • Conduct cost control and financial efficiency analyses to support department sustainability.
 
 
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintains a strong working relationship with all departments to support smooth operations and accomplishment of goals.
  • Represent the aquatics department professionally, in both image and manner, to support OTHS’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Provides leadership and direction in the development of short- and long-range plans, and gathers, interprets, and prepares data for reports and recommendations as it pertains to the aquatics department.
  • Participate in and support special events, parties, and fundraising efforts as needed.
 
 
Position Requirements:
 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or comparable professional work experience.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in an Aquatics operational leadership capacity.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, managing and developing a team of at least 50+ staff.
  • Strong background in program development, staff supervision, and fiscal management.
  • Extensive experience conducting training in lifeguarding, water safety, swim lessons, First Aid, CPR, and Administering Emergency Oxygen.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management :
• Assist in managing staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage, including coordinating shift swaps and helping cover callouts as needed.
• Observing, evaluating, and coaching the lifeguard staff to maintain high performance standards.
• Ensure consistent and fair enforcement of all pool safety rules and policies.
• Assist lifeguards with member and/or guest interactions including enforcing safety rules and code of conduct.

Lifeguard
Job Summary:
The Lifeguard will ensure swimmers’ safety in the pool area and administer first aid or lifesaving techniques when needed.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Ensures that the rules and regulations of the swimming pool are followed to maintain a safe swimming environment.
· Administers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and uses automated external defibrillator (AED) when needed.
· Contacts emergency medical personnel when a serious injury occurs.

Position Overview: The Part-Time Swim Coach supports the safe, inclusive, and progressive development of swimmers in accordance with USA Swimming guidelines. This role is responsible for leading practices, developing athletes’ technical skills, promoting team spirit, and maintaining a positive and motivating environment for all participants. This is a year-round, part-time position starting in December. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and organize structured swim practices for age-group and/or competitive swimmers.
  • Ensure swimmer safety and uphold all USA Swimming and facility safety protocols.
  • Teach and reinforce proper stroke technique, starts, turns, and race strategies.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on respect, sportsmanship, and individual improvement.
  • Communicate regularly with swimmers and parents regarding goals, progress, and meet information in a respectful, hospitable, and professional manner.
  • Provide real-time feedback and correction during practices and competitions.

Massage

Massage Therapist

Old Town Hot Springs is looking for Massage Therapists to join the Massage Team. The Massage Therapist will apply a range of massage techniques involving hands and fingers to relieve pain in muscles, soft tissues, and other parts of the body.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Consults with clients before massage to identify and evaluate areas requiring therapeutic treatment.
  • Consults with clients to assess their expectations, and asks questions related to pain or discomfort and to learn and/or update their medical histories as necessary and appropriate to the scope of treatment.
  • Performs requested or suggested massage techniques, that may include deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, sports massage, prenatal massage, myofascial release therapy, lymphatic drainage.
  • Occasionally communicates with the patient throughout the massage to ensure comfort with pressure levels and techniques being applied.
  • Provides a relaxing and safe environment for clients.
  • Ensures smooth transitions between massage techniques.
  • Demonstrates and educates clients on methods to soothe and strengthen targeted muscles and tissues at home; may provide reference materials or links to websites and videos for further guidance and instruction.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to correctly perform a variety of massage techniques including deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, and sports massage.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of massage therapy training program through an approved school or apprenticeship program required. Coursework and clinical work minimum requirement to 650 total hours.
