Human Resources Director

Job Summary:

With approximately 160 full-time and part-time employees, the Human Resource Director at Old Town Hot Springs is a vital role in the organization and will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies and activities of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand and develop the organization’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization’s human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Actively collaborates with director team to streamline and enhance policies and procedures.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to senior leadership.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for staff.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Head Swim Team Coach

Job Title: Head Swim Team Coach

Reports To: Aquatics Director

Position Overview: The Head Swim Team Coach, following USA Swimming Guidelines, is responsible for leading the Steamboat Springs Swim Team in its mission to provide a safe, encouraging, and positive environment for swimmers to develop as athletes and people.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops training curriculum for all roster groups.
  • Responsible for competition schedule, meet entries and coach travel.
  • Primary coach for travel meets, approximately 12 per year.
  • Personally coach the most advanced roster group.
  • Assists Aquatics Director in annual program budget and cost controls.
  • Creates and maintains team policies and handbooks.
  • Coordinates with Aquatics Director to schedule Lap Pool use.
  • Hire, schedule and supervise part time Swim Team Coaches.
  • Ensures compliance with all USA Swimming rules.
  • Develop positive relationships with participants and provide motivational support and guidance.
  • Model and promote sportsmanship and leadership.
  • Be the leader of Steamboat Springs Swim Team and build community ties.
  • Communicate with parents and athletes.

  • Current USA Swimming Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection Training, Foundations of Coaching 101 and background check.
  • Competitive swim coaching experience. Head Coach experience preferred.

  • Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid and AED certification. Lifeguard certification preferred.

Climbing Wall Attendant

The Old Town Hot Springs climbing wall attendee provides instruction to members and guests in a fun, professional, and safety-focused environment. The instructor encourages climbers to further develop their climbing abilities and physical fitness. The position grows and maintains impactful connections with members. The position also provides excellent customer service and climbing instruction while maintaining the mission and core values of Old Town Hot Springs.

Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience

Front Desk Attendant

This professional and active desk worker acts as a cashier, receptionist and performs excellent customer service.

The Front Desk Attendant greets and checks in a high volume of members and guests to the facility daily. They will operate the cashier stations, computers, and phone systems. Other tasks such as scheduling massages and signing up members for classes are conducted daily. Strong communication skills and experience working with the public are necessary.

This position is full-time with multiple shifts available:

  • 1 pm – 9 pm
  • 12 pm – 7 pm

Housekeeper
