Logrolling sounds like a fun activity to try but did you know that it is a major competitive sport? In a log rolling competition, two athletes stand on a key log and attempt to make the other fall off through running, kicking the log, sprinting, and stopping. This type of competition or activity dates back to the beginning of the logging industry and requires primal strength and balance.
Log Rolling at Old Town Hot Springs: Saturdays at 11:00AM in October
We are not hosting any log rolling competitions at Old Town Hot Springs, but we do have a new synthetic key log that you should try! Besides being a lot of fun, log rolling is a great low-impact and strength-building exercise. It requires physical strength as well as mental stamina. During our weekly classes, instructor Alice will be on hand to help beginners get on the log for the first time and begin to develop the balance for movement on the log. Advanced participants will benefit from Alice’s techniques and personalized insights.
