2024 Construction Recap:
Our construction team has been working around the clock to deliver four new pools for the community to enjoy next year. Hereβs a high-level recap of the work that has happened so far:
- Extensive excavation and underground utility work laid the foundation for our four new pools.
- The kiddie pool, community pool, and hot pool forms were created, rebar was installed, plumbing work was finalized, with concrete and shotcrete work completed soon after.
- After the 3 pools were completed, the crew backfilled around the area and began the same process for our new competition lap pool! Over 170 yards of concrete were poured to form the pool’s base.
- Comprehensive testing was performed throughout the process to ensure the highest quality of the end product.
- Foundations for our new sun deck were poured, and framing and deck board installation was completed in the fall. The stairs are complete, and the railing will be installed soon.
- In addition to all the work on the pool deck, our electrical team ran conduits across the OTHS roof to the construction site. The team pulled over 20,000 feet of wire to provide electrical power to our new pools and pumphouse!
- The waterline tile is complete in all four pools and exterior pool piping is also complete.
- The installation of the snowmelt system for the entire pool deck is currently in process.
Looking ahead to 2025:
Construction on the pool expansion at Old Town Hot Springs is progressing steadily. This winter, crews are focusing on completing the snowmelt system, paving the pool decks, and finalizing interior and mechanical work in the Pump House. As spring arrives, the team will plaster and fill the pools, balance systems, complete tiling, and finish paving and landscaping, alongside tackling the final punch list items. The project remains on track, and we look forward to welcoming the community to the new pools with a grand opening this summer!
