Advancing the Future of Osteoarthritis Care

Join us for a free educational seminar highlighting a groundbreaking, multi-year study focused on curing osteoarthritis within the next five years with experts from CU Boulder, UCHealth University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and Colorado State University.

At this free seminar, Dr. Charlene Shelton will share the progress of the study with the community and provide a comprehensive overview of osteoarthritis, including how it is diagnosed, current treatment options, and practical strategies for managing pain and improving daily life. The presentation is designed to be informative and accessible for individuals living with osteoarthritis, caregivers, and anyone interested in joint health.

When: Thursday, February 26, at 6pm in the Community Room at OTHS

About the Speaker:

Dr. Charlene Shelton is the Engagement Officer on a large, collaborative ARPA-H award to cure osteoarthritis in five years. The award brings together over 60 researchers from the University of Colorado Boulder, UCHealth University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Colorado State University. Charlene has over 25 years’ experience in community engagement, including engagement of people with lived experience as research partners and is the editor of a recently published handbook on how to form sustainable, equitable, and meaningful research partnerships. As a former critical care nurse, she has worked in the orthopedic space as both a clinician and researcher. She holds a masters degrees in sociology and public administration and a PhD in Health & Behavioral Sciences.
